In the X-Files season 6 episode 5, we continue where we left off in the previous episode, Dreamland I. After an alien encounter, Mulder finds himself stuck in the body of Morris Fletcher, a man from the Men in Black. With Morris occupying Mulder's body, Mulder has no choice but to assume Morris' life.
In Dreamland II, we see Mulder, now Morris, desperately trying to find a way to reverse the body switch. He runs into Scully, who rightly questions the man she thinks is Morris, but Mulder convinces her by revealing personal information only she and Mulder know.
Meanwhile, the real Morris, who is trapped in Mulder's body, is mistaken for Mulder by the Men in Black and is being held captive. The Men in Black force Morris to call his friends at the FBI to gain access to classified information. When Morris fails to provide them with the information they're looking for, they resort to torture, putting Morris in distress and agony.
Mulder, now Morris, is also pursued by two agents, who want him dead. The agents have been sent by the Men in Black, as they believe Mulder is a threat to their work and must be eliminated. Morris is stuck in a race against time to save himself and reverse the body switch before it's too late.
Mulder, now Morris, must navigate Morris' job and personal life and try to blend in without raising too many eyebrows. He's faced with unexpected challenges, including a demanding wife who expects a promotion from Morris and Morris' boss, who is suspicious of Morris' behavior and appearance.
Mulder also discovers that Morris' involvement with the Men in Black goes deeper than he initially thought. Morris had made a deal with them in order to get ahead in his career. However, Morris quickly realizes the true nature of the Men in Black and tries to back out of the deal, but it seems the Men in Black have no plans of letting him go.
As the episode progresses, Mulder, now Morris, is able to piece together Morris' deceptions and expose his deal with the Men in Black. He also discovers that Morris had stolen a UFO from them, which could be the key to reversing the body switch.
As the episode reaches its climax, Mulder, now Morris, gets in touch with the real Morris and comes up with a plan to retrieve the UFO and use it to reverse the body switch. With the help of Scully and the Lone Gunmen, they are able to break into a military base where the UFO is being held, and they recover it successfully.
The episode concludes with Mulder, back in his own body, reflecting on all the strange events that have happened to him. He discovers that the Men in Black had erased all evidence of the body switch and that all his memories of the incident are slowly fading away.
Dreamland II is an action-packed, adrenaline-fueled episode that delivers on suspense, thrills, and excitement, making it a fan-favorite episode among X-Files viewers.
