In The X-Files season 4 episode 23, titled "Demons," Mulder and Scully investigate a case involving a man who claims his abusive father has returned from the dead to torment him. The man, named Lucas Henry, is a former patient at a psychiatric hospital where his abusive father died years ago. Lucas is convinced that his father's spirit has reanimated his body and is now pursuing him.
Mulder and Scully are initially skeptical of Lucas's claims, but as they investigate further, they uncover evidence of a dark and supernatural force at work. The agents also discover that other former patients at the hospital have been experiencing similar hauntings, leading them to suspect that something sinister happened there.
As they delve deeper into the case, Mulder and Scully encounter a number of bizarre and disturbing occurrences. They witness objects moving on their own, hear unexplained noises in the hospital hallways, and encounter a mysterious figure that seems to vanish into thin air. The agents begin to question their own sanity as they try to piece together what is really happening.
As the investigation progresses, Mulder and Scully begin to uncover a disturbing link between the hospital and a Satanic cult that has been operating in the area. They soon realize that the cult's leader is attempting to summon a powerful demon to inhabit the body of one of his followers. The demon, they believe, is the force responsible for the strange occurrences at the hospital.
As the agents race to stop the cult from carrying out their plans, they find themselves in a desperate struggle against powerful supernatural forces. With time running out, Mulder and Scully must use all of their skills and resources to prevent the demon from taking over its chosen host.
