Mulder and Scully investigate a case involving a serial killer named John Lee Roche who had been caught years ago by Mulder, but has recently claimed to have info on Mulder's sister, Samantha. Roche was a paper hanger as well and made intricate origami figures out of paper, a habit that he passed on to Mulder when he was a child. Mulder begins to obsess once again about his sister's disappearance and starts to believe that Roche is indeed the key to finding out what happened to her. However, as they dive deeper into the case, they discover that Roche may not be what he seems and that he may actually just be a sick and twisted individual who enjoys playing with Mulder's mind. Scully tries to keep Mulder grounded but it becomes increasingly difficult as Mulder becomes more and more consumed with the case. As the two try to unravel the truth about Roche, they are confronted with some hard truths about Mulder's past and the lengths he'll go to find closure. The episode is a tense and emotional ride that is not to be missed.
