With the fall of the Berlin Wall, the decades-long divide between East and West Germany has come to an end. But what lies beneath the surface of this reunification is a dark secret that Mulder and Scully are about to uncover.
Their investigation leads them to a secret government facility where, during World War II, Japanese scientists conducted brutal experiments on live human subjects. The facility is known as 731, and it's where Mulder and Scully will discover the horrifying truth behind the genetic experimentation that took place there.
As they begin to uncover the mysteries of the facility, the agents encounter a group of people who have been infected with the deadly virus that was a byproduct of the experiments. Among them is a man named Shiro Zama, who has escaped from the facility and is on the run.
As Mulder and Scully try to bring Zama and the others to safety, they are pursued by gunmen from the Japanese government. But as the agents close in on the horrible truth of the experiments, they also come face to face with the dark realities of their own government's involvement in the cover-up.
With action-packed sequences and a suspenseful storyline, "731 (2)" is an episode of The X-Files that won't disappoint. It's filled with heart-pounding moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat, as well as insightful commentary on the atrocities committed in the name of science.
