Ep 2. The Friendship Trap

Mildred Hubble is back for another season of The Worst Witch in the second episode of season two, titled "The Friendship Trap." The magical school for witches has never been more lively, and Mildred's first year at school seems like it happened just yesterday. However, things take a turn for the worse when she realizes her best friend is more interested in pleasing others than spending time with her.

The episode begins with Mildred waking up early in the morning and feeling unhappy that her best friend, Maud Spellbody, is not spending enough time with her. She's been busy hanging out with her new friends and paying less attention to Mildred. With her mean and intimidating personality, the students at the academy are terrified of Miss Pentangle. The contest is a big deal for everyone as the prize is a magical crystal, which is said to be very powerful. The students work in groups for the contest, with Mildred, Maud and Enid Nightshade working together.

However, Mildred's disappointment in her friend's absence becomes her downfall, as she accidentally swaps the ingredients in Maud's potion by mistake. She had hoped to prove herself to Maud and her new friends, but instead, it turns out to be a disaster as Maud accuses her of sabotaging her potion. Mildred is hurt and dismayed, but things are not as they seem. Maud is facing pressure from her new group of friends to ditch Mildred and wants to win the contest to impress them.

As Mildred sets out to prove her innocence, she stumbles upon an even bigger plot to steal the crystal during the competition. With the help of her friends, Mildred works hard to stop the thieves and protect the crystal. The frantic pursuit sends the students through School rules, and the search for the truth ultimately takes Mildred to the heart of a mysterious dark forest, where even the bravest of witches would not dare to go.

As the competition heats up, students factions turn on each other, and the witches explore their true friendships. Mildred is determined to save her friendship with Maud but is struggling with her own identity. As witches come together around Mildred to continue their quest, amidst the chaos of the potion contest, magical crystal, and friendship, there is still a feeling of authenticity and love between the witches.

In the end, Mildred and Maud make up as they realize that true friendship is always there, regardless of who shares it with them. The episode ends with the girls embracing in what hopefully will be a long-lasting friendship.
