Feeling pressure from his parents and his girlfriend, Wayne turns to Kevin for help. Kevin agrees to help Wayne study, but it's not easy. Wayne is a tough customer and Kevin struggles to get through to him.
As the Loosiers continue to improve, they decide to challenge the school team to a game. Initially, the school team mocks the Loosiers and doesn't take them seriously. In the end, the Loosiers lose the game by one point. Despite the loss, Kevin is proud of his team and their improvement. He has learned that winning isn't everything and that having fun and working hard can be just as rewarding.
Meanwhile, Wayne takes his test and passes with flying colors. He thanks Kevin for his help and admits that he couldn't have done it without him.
