Ep 5. Straight and True

In this episode, Cutty gets a glimmer of hope when a former boxer comes to the rec center and offers to train some of the kids. Cutty sees this as a way to get the kids excited about boxing and to give them a positive role model.

The police investigation also moves forward in this episode. McNulty and Kima are still trying to gather evidence against Stringer Bell and Avon Barksdale, but they're having trouble getting anything concrete. They decide to try a new tactic and start focusing on the low-level dealers who work for Bell and Barksdale. They hope that by taking down the small fish, they can eventually work their way up the chain. In this episode, McNulty and Kima make a major arrest, but they soon realize that they may have caught the wrong guy.
