As Rick's days are numbered, the communities are trying to find a way to stop the Saviors for good. While they are all working together, there are still conflicts between the communities that need to be resolved. In episode 4 of season 9, called "The Obliged," Rick continues to grapple with the idea of leaving the people he has fought alongside for so long.
The episode begins with Rick and Daryl heading out on a mission. While they are stopped on the road, they have a confrontation that ends with Daryl walking away and Rick being left alone.
