As the second part of The Voice season 12's battle rounds premiere begins, coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Alicia Keys have a difficult decision to make as they watch their team members go head-to-head.
The episode starts with the coaches pairing up their team members and assigning them a song to perform together. The rehearsal process is tense as each pair tries to perfect their harmonies and work out who will take on the lead vocals. The coaches offer advice and guidance, but ultimately the fate of each contestant rests with their own performance.
The first battle of the night is between two powerhouse singers on Team Adam. Lilli Passero and Lauryn Judd take on a classic ballad and blow the coaches away with their harmonies and emotional delivery. It's a tough call for Adam, but he ultimately chooses one to move forward to the knockout round.
Next up, two members of Team Gwen take on a modern pop hit. Stephanie Rice and Caroline Sky bring different styles to the table, but both impress with their unique takes on the song. Gwen struggles to choose a winner, but ultimately makes a decision based on who she thinks will be able to grow the most as an artist.
Team Alicia's pair of battles are just as strong. Anatalia Villaranda and Dawson Coyle bring their A-game to a rock anthem, while Vanessa Ferguson and Autumn Turner tackle a soulful classic. Alicia is clearly torn between all four contestants and takes her time deliberating before making her final choices.
The last battle of the night is on Team Blake, where a seasoned pro goes up against a newcomer. Casi Joy and Ashley Levin both have country roots and take on a challenging duet. Despite Blake's difficulties in choosing between the two, he ultimately decides on the one he thinks has the most potential to win the competition.
Throughout the episode, the coaches offer plenty of feedback for their team members, both positive and negative. They encourage them to take risks and show off their unique styles, while also pushing them to improve their weaknesses. The contestants take it all in stride, grateful for the opportunity to learn from such experienced professionals.
Overall, The Voice season 12 episode 10 is a strong showing of the battle rounds. The singers on each team are talented and passionate, and it's clear that the coaches have some tough decisions to make as the competition heats up. With more battles still to come, it's anyone's guess who will come out on top.
