Ep 7. The Battles Premiere

In The Voice season 13 episode 7, entitled "The Battles Premiere," the highly anticipated battle rounds begin. Coaches Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus, Blake Shelton, and Jennifer Hudson have selected their teams of the strongest singers, but now it's time for these talented artists to face off against each other in the ultimate vocal showdown.
The episode kicks off with a behind-the-scenes look at the coaches' prep work. The judges meet with their celebrity advisers - Kelly Rowland for Team JHud, Joe Jonas for Team Adam, Billy Ray Cyrus for Team Miley, and the Rascal Flatts for Team Blake - to help advise them on their team's performance during the battles.
Then, it's time for the first vocal battle of the season: Chris Weaver versus Kathrina Feigh representing Team JHud. The two duet on "Dangerous Woman" by Ariana Grande, showcasing their killer vocals and unique styles. The coaches are blown away by both of the artists, making for a tough decision for Hudson.
Next up is a battle between Adam Cunningham and Natalie Stovall from Team Blake, who sing "Boondocks" by Little Big Town. Stovall, who is a talented fiddle player, brings her country flair to the stage, while Cunningham shows off his strong and powerful vocals. The coaches have a tough time choosing between the two, but ultimately Shelton decides to advance Cunningham to the next round.
Team Miley's battle next features Chloe Kohanski and Ilianna Viramontes performing "I Am Woman" by Helen Reddy. Kohanski brings her signature rock edge while Viramontes adds a Latin flair to the song. The judges are impressed by both artists but Miley ultimately chooses Kohanski to move forward.
The final battle of the night features Team Adam's Emily Luther and Gary Carpentier dueting on "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" by Adele. Both singers showcase their impressive range, but Carpentier steals the show with his soulful delivery. However, Adam decides to advance Emily to the next round.
Throughout the episode, there are plenty of tense moments as each coach tries to make the tough decision of who to keep on their team. As they deliberate, the advisers offer helpful advice and encouragement to help them make the right choice.
