In The Unit season 2 episode 17, titled "The Water Is Wide," tensions are high as the team is sent to train at a naval facility in Virginia. The intense training begins with a difficult water survival course, which tests the physical and mental limits of the soldiers.
Mack Gerhardt, played by actor Max Martini, struggles to keep up with the course due to an injury sustained during a previous mission. His determination is put to the test when he is paired up with Tiffy Gerhardt, played by Abby Brammell, for a challenging underwater obstacle course.
Meanwhile, Jonas Blane, played by Dennis Haysbert, is faced with his own challenges as he must confront his son's decision to enlist in the military. Their strained relationship is put to the test as Jonas tries to convince his son to reconsider his decision.
Back at home, Molly Blane, played by Regina Taylor, has her hands full with a group of unruly teenagers who have been causing trouble in the neighborhood. She takes it upon herself to try and steer them in the right direction, but her efforts are met with resistance.
The team's training takes a dangerous turn when they are unexpectedly ambushed by a group of armed attackers. They must use all their training and skills to fight back and escape. The intensity of the situation leaves the soldiers questioning who may have been behind the attack and what their motives could be.
As the episode comes to a close, the soldiers are left on high alert, wondering where the next threat may come from and how they can best prepare themselves for whatever comes their way. "The Water Is Wide" showcases the strength and resilience of the soldiers of The Unit as they face danger both on and off the battlefield.
