Grace Fraser (Nicole Kidman) is consumed with guilt since her therapist’s murder. Overwhelmed by the fear of being caught and unable to confide in anyone, she struggles to establish a new normal for herself and her son, Henry (Noah Jupe). While attempting to navigate the legal system and Jonathan’s (Hugh Grant) high-priced lawyers, Grace questions whether her marriage and everything she’s built could have been nothing but an intricate fraud. As Haley Fitzgerald’s (Noma Dumezweni) case against her husband, Franklin (Donald Sutherland), continues to worsen, and with her friend’s disappearance still needing to be explained, Grace searches for answers and eagerly awaits Haley’s testimony. Meanwhile, Jonathan himself is laying the groundwork for his defense, but when revelations about the night of the murder surface, the Fraser family is truly put to the test.
