Ep 5. Michael and Zena

The Undateables is a British TV show that follows the journeys of people who have disabilities or conditions that make dating and relationships challenging for them. In season 11, episode 5, we meet Michael and Zena.

Michael is a 27-year-old man from Kent who has Asperger's syndrome. He has had several unsuccessful relationships in the past, and he struggles to understand social cues and communicate effectively with his partners. In this episode, we see her meet a man named Rob who is also a wheelchair user. They bond over their shared experiences and love of travel, and Zena is impressed by Rob's positive attitude. However, she worries that they may be in different places in their lives since he is ready to settle down and start a family, while she is focused on her career and independence.

Throughout the episode, we also check in with some previous subjects from the show. Ray, a 29-year-old man with Down syndrome who was featured in season 10, is now in a relationship with a woman named Christine. He takes her on a romantic picnic and confesses his love for her, which she reciprocates. Meanwhile, Alex, a 23-year-old woman with autism who was featured in season 9, has started a new job and is pursuing her dream of becoming a qualified chef.

As always, The Undateables provides an honest and heartwarming look into the challenges and triumphs of dating with a disability. Michael and Zena may face obstacles, but their determination to find love and live life to the fullest is truly inspiring.
