As two fighters remain on each team, the tension builds in the house as they struggle to make it to the quarter-finals. With no room for error, each fighter must give it their all in the last chance to secure a spot in the next round. In the blue corner, Mac Danzig and Richie Hightower from Team Hughes prepare for battle. Danzig has a strong background in wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu and has shown impressive striking skills. However, Hightower has a reach advantage and has been improving his grappling game.
In the red corner, Ben Saunders of Team Serra faces off against his teammate Jon Koppenhaver. Saunders is a muay thai specialist with exceptional striking, while Koppenhaver is known for his heart and willingness to give it his all. The pressure is high as the fighters have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Before the fights, both teams head to a special training session with boxing legend Freddie Roach. Roach works with the fighters on their striking techniques and gives them advice on how to improve their footwork. Roach’s words of encouragement and wisdom inspire the fighters to push harder and give it their all.
Back at the house, the fighters struggle to maintain their focus and keep their emotions in check. The pressure of the competition is beginning to weigh on them, causing friction and tension between some of the fighters. Coaches Matt Hughes and Matt Serra try their best to keep their teams focused and motivated.
In the first fight, Danzig and Hightower square off in a three-round war. Both fighters show impressive grappling skills, with Hightower taking the early advantage with a takedown. However, Danzig keeps working and manages to secure a takedown of his own. The remainder of the fight sees both fighters trading blows and looking for submissions. In the end, the judges declare Danzig the winner by split decision.
In the second fight, Saunders and Koppenhaver put on a spectacular show for the fans. Saunders’ muay thai skills are on full display as he lands vicious leg kicks and solid combinations on Koppenhaver. However, Koppenhaver refuses to back down and continues to pressure Saunders with strong grappling and wild strikes. The fight goes the distance, with Saunders being declared the winner by unanimous decision.
The coaches and fighters gather in the locker room to reflect on the fights and share their thoughts on the upcoming quarter-finals. Hughes warns his team not to take their opponents lightly and to stay focused on the end goal. Serra reminds his team that they are all in this together and that they must continue to support each other through the tough times.
As the episode comes to a close, the fighters are shown returning to the house, tired but determined. They know that the road ahead will not be easy, but they are ready to take on whatever challenges come their way. With only eight fighters left in the competition, the stakes are higher than ever before. Who will come out on top and earn the right to fight in the semi-finals? Only time will tell.
