Ep 10. Gut Check

In the tenth episode of The Ultimate Fighter season 10, titled "Gut Check," tensions are high as the competition heats up. The episode begins with a recap of the previous week's fight, where Marcus Jones emerged victorious over Darrill Schoonover.

The fighters are immediately shown training for their upcoming fights, with coaches Rashad Evans and Rampage Jackson trying to motivate their teams. The focus is on Mike Wessel, who is set to fight Zak Jensen in the next elimination round. Wessel struggles with confidence issues and fears that he will let his team down. Meanwhile, Team Rampage is dealing with a possible injury to Scott Junk, who hurt his knee during training.

As fight day approaches, both teams are feeling the pressure. Wessel tries to get in the right mindset, but the specter of failure continues to haunt him. The episode then shifts focus to the other fight that night, between Roy Nelson and James McSweeney. Both fighters are confident heading into the bout, with Nelson proclaiming that he will "smash" McSweeney.

The first fight of the night is Wessel vs. Jensen. The two heavyweight contenders come out swinging, with neither fighter able to gain a clear advantage. As the fight goes on, however, Jensen appears to be getting the upper hand. Wessel starts to tire and his punches lose their power. In the end, Jensen is declared the winner by unanimous decision.

Next up is Nelson vs. McSweeney. The two fighters have very different styles, with Nelson favoring ground-and-pound and McSweeney relying on his striking. The first round is relatively even, with McSweeney landing some punches but Nelson keeping him on the ground. In the second round, however, Nelson takes control. He manages to get McSweeney onto the ground and lands a series of brutal blows, knocking McSweeney out cold.

The victorious Nelson is then seen celebrating with his team, while the defeated McSweeney is shown in his locker room, disappointed but still proud of his efforts. The episode ends with a teaser for the next fight, between Matt Mitrione and James McSweeney.

"Gut Check" is a tense and exciting episode of The Ultimate Fighter, showcasing the drama and excitement of the elimination rounds. The fighters give it their all, with the victors advancing one step closer to their ultimate goal of becoming The Ultimate Fighter.
