Ep 12. The Death Trap

The Time Tunnel was a science fiction television series that premiered in 1966 and ran for only one season. The show follows two scientists, Doug Phillips and Tony Newman, who are stuck in a time-traveling device called the Time Tunnel. Each episode features the pair traveling to a different point in history and attempting to find a way out before they are stuck there permanently.

In season 1 episode 12, titled "The Death Trap," Doug and Tony find themselves traveling to Chicago in the midst of the Great Fire of 1871. As they arrive, they witness a group of people attempting to rescue one of their comrades who has fallen into a burning building. Doug and Tony decide to lend a hand, but things quickly go wrong when the building collapses on top of them.

As they lay buried beneath the rubble, Doug and Tony are shocked to discover that they are not alone. They are joined by a pair of bank robbers who had been using the burning building as a distraction while they made their escape. With no way out and the building continuing to crumble around them, Doug, Tony, and the robbers must work together to find a way to escape before it's too late.

Meanwhile, back in the Time Tunnel control room, General Kirk and the rest of the team work frantically to try to pinpoint Doug and Tony's location and rescue them before it's too late. But as time begins to run out, it becomes clear that the only way to save the pair may be to risk the integrity of the Time Tunnel itself.

"The Death Trap" is a thrilling and action-packed episode, filled with heart-stopping moments and unexpected twists. As Doug and Tony fight for their lives in the midst of one of history's most devastating disasters, they are forced to confront not only the dangers of the past but also the limitations of their own technology.
