The Tick season 2 episode 3, "Armless but Not Harmless," follows our hero and his sidekick Arthur as they investigate a string of thefts from high-tech labs. The twist? All of the items stolen are arms - specifically robotic arms and prosthetic limbs. While they're on the case, they come across a villain named Lobstercules, a man with the head of a lobster and the body of a heavily muscled man. As they try to navigate this bizarre case and apprehend the thief, they also have to contend with Lobstercules' formidable fighting skills and his personal vendetta against The Tick.
Meanwhile, Arthur is still grappling with his newfound responsibilities as the Tick's sidekick. He's struggling to balance his regular life (which includes a job as an accountant) with his super hero duties, and his girlfriend Dot is feeling increasingly neglected. To make matters worse, Dot is dealing with some personal demons of her own - mainly, that her boss at the hospital where she works is a hoarder and the clutter is starting to take over their home as well.
As the episode progresses, we see The Tick and Arthur formulating a plan to catch Lobstercules and recover the stolen arms. They run into several setbacks along the way, including a run-in with some confused elderly patients at the hospital and a high-speed chase through the city. Ultimately, though, they are able to apprehend the villain and save the day.
Throughout all of this chaos and action, the show still manages to maintain its trademark sense of humor and quirkiness. There are plenty of witty one-liners from The Tick and some poignant moments between Arthur and Dot as they struggle to work through their issues. "Armless but Not Harmless" proves once again that The Tick is a show that can seamlessly blend superhero action with humor and heart.
