Max Thunderman and his twin sister, Phoebe, lead very different lives. Max wants to be a supervillain, while Phoebe wants to use her powers for good as a superhero. In this episode of "The Thundermans" season 2, titled "Cheer and Present Danger," the two siblings are forced to work together to achieve a common goal.
The Thunderman family is getting ready for Christmas when they receive a visit from Aunt Mandy, who is known for being a less-than-stellar gift giver. Phoebe, who loves the holidays, is determined to make sure that everyone has a great time, despite Aunt Mandy's reputation for terrible presents.
Meanwhile, Max is approached by his new girlfriend, Allison, who wants him to help her sister, who is the captain of the cheerleading squad. The cheerleading squad is preparing for the big cheer-off, and Allison's sister is having trouble coming up with a new routine. Max agrees to help, but only if Allison can get him the ultimate Christmas present: a hoverboard.
As the siblings attempt to juggle their respective tasks, they begin to realize that they might actually need each other's help. Phoebe realizes that Max's supervillain skills might come in handy when it comes to dealing with Aunt Mandy's terrible gifts, and Max realizes that Phoebe's superhero abilities might be useful in helping Allison's sister come up with a winning cheer routine.
The two siblings reluctantly team up, and chaos ensues as they attempt to help each other out. Max's supervillain antics clash with Phoebe's superhero code of ethics, and they soon find themselves in one crazy situation after another.
In the end, they both learn valuable lessons about teamwork and the true meaning of the holidays. Aunt Mandy's terrible gifts turn out to be the perfect things for everyone, and Allison's sister comes up with a winning cheer routine that incorporates both Max's supervillain tricks and Phoebe's superhero moves.
