In The Simpsons season 9 episode 21, titled "Girly Edition," Bart and Lisa become rival broadcasters for their own news segments. Bart creates "Bart's People," a journalistic-style segment that focuses on hard-hitting news stories, while Lisa creates "Kidz Newz," a more lighthearted and upbeat segment that covers more human interest stories.
As the two compete for viewership, they both gain a large following. However, when a candidate for mayor visits Springfield, Bart and Lisa both hope to land the first interview. While Bart tries to use his more serious approach to impress the candidate, Lisa proves her worth as a journalist when she manages to get an exclusive interview by connecting with the candidate on a personal level.
Meanwhile, Homer becomes addicted to a spinning dance class, causing Marge to worry about his health and well-being. As Homer becomes more and more invested in the class, he starts to neglect his responsibilities at home and work, causing chaos for Marge and their children.
As the two storylines intersect, Bart and Lisa learn the importance of teamwork and compromise, while Homer learns the dangers of becoming too obsessed with something at the expense of everything else in his life. "Girly Edition" is filled with the trademark humor and heart that has made The Simpsons a beloved television show for decades.
