In the episode "Homerpalooza" of The Simpsons season 7, Homer becomes a traveling carnival freak after failing to impress his son, Bart, with his music preferences. In an effort to relate to his kids, Homer drunkenly volunteers to go on tour with the "Hullabalooza" music festival, featuring bands from the 90s such as Smashing Pumpkins and Sonic Youth.

While on tour, Homer struggles to enjoy the non-stop partying, but finds solace in bonding with the festival's performers. Despite being an outcast in the world of music, Homer impresses the bands with his ability to withstand being shot out of a cannon and his willingness to be a human shield during a stage dive.

The episode is filled with hilarious moments as Homer tries to fit in with the hip crowd of the 90s music scene. Meanwhile, Marge and Lisa worry about Homer's well-being and try to convince him to come home. When they finally meet up with him at the festival, they witness firsthand the chaotic nature of the festival and realize that maybe they have underestimated Homer's abilities to handle the wild and crazy music scene.

Overall, "Homerpalooza" is a fun-filled episode that showcases Homer's willingness to try new things in order to connect with his family. The episode is also known for its hilarious guest appearances by famous musical artists of the 90s.
