Homer the Great is an episode from the sixth season of The Simpsons, which aired on January 8, 1995. The episode opens with Homer being invited to join the mysterious Stonecutters organization. After an extensive initiation process, he becomes a member of this elite group, which is described by his fellow Stonecutters as "the ancient order of the Stonecutters, who since ancient times have guarded the secrets of the universe."

The Stonecutters are a secret society that operate in the shadows, dictating the course of world events. Homer is thrilled to be a part of the group, especially since he is privy to their secrets and knowledge. He revels in the power and authority that comes with being part of this secret organization, but soon begins to realize the downside.

As a member of the Stonecutters, Homer is not allowed to share their secrets with outsiders, including his family. He becomes increasingly distant from Marge and the kids, and is fixated on his newfound power. His behavior becomes erratic, and he begins to alienate those around him.

Meanwhile, Marge becomes increasingly concerned about Homer's involvement with the Stonecutters. She reaches out to some of the other wives in town to see if they are also concerned about their husbands' secret society. This leads to an all-out war between the Stonecutters and the No Homers Club, a group of people who have been rejected by the Stonecutters and form their own anti-Stonecutters organization.

As the conflict between the two groups intensifies, Homer realizes that he is being used by the Stonecutters for their own purposes. He becomes disillusioned with the group, and ultimately decides to leave the organization. In the final scene, he returns home to his family, who are overjoyed to have him back.

The episode is a satirical look at secret societies and the allure of power. It also explores themes of loyalty and betrayal, as well as the importance of family and belonging. The humor is classic Simpsons, with references to popular culture and witty one-liners. Overall, Homer the Great is a highly entertaining episode that showcases the best of The Simpsons.
