In The Simpsons season 29 episode 4, titled "Treehouse of Horror XXVIII," fans of the beloved animated sitcom can expect the annual Halloween-themed episode that has become a staple of the series over the years. This episode, like its predecessors, consists of three different short stories that parody popular horror movies and TV shows.
The first segment, titled "The Exor-Sis," sees Maggie possessed by a demon, and the family must call in an exorcist to save her. However, the exorcist ends up becoming possessed herself, leading to chaos in the Simpson household. This segment is a spoof of the classic horror film The Exorcist, with Maggie taking on the role of the possessed child.
The second segment, "Coralisa," parodies the critically acclaimed animated film Coraline. In this story, Lisa becomes enchanted with a parallel universe that appears behind a hidden door in the Simpson's house. This universe seems perfect at first, with happy and friendly versions of the Simpson family, but as Lisa spends more time there, she begins to realize that things are not as they seem.
The final segment, "Mmm...Homer," centers around Homer's addiction to a new snack food that turns him into a zombie-like creature. As more and more people become addicted to the snack, they too transform into mindless zombies, leading to a post-apocalyptic world ruled by the snack food's manufacturer. This segment is a parody of several zombie movies and TV shows, including The Walking Dead.
As with all Treehouse of Horror episodes, fans can expect plenty of dark humor, witty references to pop culture, and a healthy dose of gore. The Simpsons have been making viewers laugh for over 30 years, and these Halloween specials are always a fan favorite. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the twisted tales of "Treehouse of Horror XXVIII."
