In The Simpsons season 23 episode 2, titled "Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts," Bart must temporarily transfer to a school for gifted children after he is mistakenly classified as having a high IQ. Initially, Bart enjoys the challenge of attending a school where he is no longer the troublemaker, but soon becomes jealous of his new classmates' intellect. Meanwhile, a new teacher at Springfield Elementary, Ms. Cantwell, encourages students to learn about American history by assigning a project on Theodore Roosevelt. Lisa, who idolizes the former president, takes the assignment very seriously and becomes competitive with her classmates, including Bart, who starts to take an interest in history. The episode explores themes of academic pressure, the value of intellectual curiosity, and the importance of having role models. As with many episodes of The Simpsons, "Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts" also contains plenty of humor and pop culture references.
