When Homer and Marge discover that they are not matched as bone marrow donors for their son Bart, they are shocked to learn that Bart has a long lost older brother named Tom. Tom, who happens to be a wealthy car manufacturer, sees this as an opportunity to have a prodigal son and he invites Bart to come live with him and learn the ropes of the car business.
Bart is quickly enamored with Tom's glamorous lifestyle and all of the exotic cars he has access to. Meanwhile, back at home, Homer is feeling neglected and jealous of all the time Bart is spending with Tom. Marge tries to calm him down and reminds him that he still has a lot of good qualities and is an important part of their family.
As Bart becomes more ingrained in Tom's world, he starts to notice some shady business practices that Tom is engaging in. When he confronts Tom about it, he realizes that his brother is not the benevolent father figure he had hoped for. Tom tries to buy Bart's silence with an expensive sports car, but Bart knows that he has to do the right thing and expose Tom's illegal actions.
With the help of the Simpson family, Bart is able to bring Tom to justice and reunite with his true family. In the end, Homer and Marge realize that they are the ones who truly love and care for Bart, and he decides to stay with them instead of chasing after material wealth and status.
Overall, this episode explores the themes of family, loyalty, and the dangers of materialism and greed. As always, The Simpsons manages to tackle serious issues with a healthy dose of humor and heart, making it a beloved classic that continues to entertain audiences season after season.
