Homer becomes the luckiest man in Springfield when he wins a prize at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant - a keen-eyed listener award for a radio call-in contest. However, the prize cannot match the joy he feels when Marge reveals her hidden talent as a painter. Her love for art was once suppressed by her father, who ridiculed her for her passion in her youth, but now her artwork has found its way into Springfield's local art exhibit.
Inspired by his wife's talent, Homer sets out to meet his idol, Ringo Starr, and solicit his help in making Marge's artistic dreams come true. Homer writes a letter to Ringo, but once Marge finds out what he has done, she becomes embarrassed and insists that Homer cancel the letter before it's too late.
Despite Marge's apprehension, Ringo replies and agrees to meet her. He views her artwork and commends her on her skills, subsequently arranging for her artwork to be displayed in a prominent New York City art museum. By the time Marge returns to Springfield, her artwork has become a cultural sensation, and the family celebrates her newfound success.
The episode resolves with Marge's artwork being displayed in the aforementioned art museum. Homer, however, is more excited to see one of Ringo Starr's drumsticks displayed nearby.
