In the eighteenth season of the iconic animated sitcom, The Simpsons, viewers were treated to a spooky Halloween special episode entitled "Treehouse of Horror XVII". As with every other Treehouse of Horror episode, this installment was made up of three distinct spooky tales that offered a generous dose of horror and comedy in equal measure.

The golem becomes more and more powerful as it consumes more of Homer's possessions, causing chaos and destruction throughout Springfield.
The final segment, "The Day the Earth Looked Stupid", takes a trip back in time to the 1930s during the War of the Worlds radio broadcast that caused mass panic across the nation. The town of Springfield is thrown into chaos as they believe the alien invasion is real, leading to hilarious and unexpected consequences.
This episode of The Simpsons was well-received by fans and critics alike, with many praising the show's continued ability to balance humor with horror. The celebrity guests that lent their voices to the episode, including Richard Lewis and Fran Drescher, also added a touch of star power to the spooky proceedings.
