Marge decides to take a break from her busy motherly duties and focus on herself by getting a job. She is hired at a local real estate agency where her boss, Ruth Powers, is surprised to find out that Marge has no experience in sales. Ruth takes Marge under her wing and teaches her the tricks of the trade. Marge quickly becomes a top seller and excels at her new job.
As Marge becomes more successful, she becomes increasingly distant from her family. Her new job keeps her out late and she misses out on important family events. Homer, feeling neglected, decides to take matters into his own hands by enlisting the help of a marriage counselor. The counselor advises Homer to take an interest in Marge's work and try to understand her newfound career ambitions.
Meanwhile, Bart becomes the target of Nelson and his gang. After a series of pranks and humiliations, Bart decides to seek revenge by taking down Nelson's gang. With the help of Lisa and Milhouse, Bart comes up with a plan that will destroy Nelson's reputation and end his reign of terror once and for all.
The episode ends with Marge realizing that she has been neglecting her family and making an effort to spend more time with them. Homer gains a newfound respect for Marge's career and decides to support her in any way he can. Bart learns an important lesson about revenge and how it can lead to unintended consequences.
