In season 14 episode 19 of The Simpsons, titled "Old Yeller-Belly," the Simpson family find themselves in a heated competition with their neighbors, the Flanders, when it comes to producing the best barbecue. While Homer and Ned Flanders are constantly trying to one-up each other, Marge and Maude Flanders try to mediate their husbands' rivalry.
Things get even more complicated when Homer eats tainted meat from his own barbecue and becomes very ill, leading to a citywide recall of all meat products. In the wake of this catastrophe, the Flanders offer to share their own supply of meat with the Simpson family.
However, Homer is unable to shake his competitive streak and becomes convinced that the Flanders are trying to outdo him even in the realm of food safety. His suspicions only intensify when he discovers that the Flanders' source of meat is a mysterious "family secret."
Meanwhile, Lisa becomes concerned about the Flanders' piousness and begins to question whether their outward displays of piety are matched by their actions behind closed doors. She uncovers a scandal involving the Flanders' son, Rod, and wonders if there is more to the family than meets the eye.
As the competition between the Simpsons and the Flanders heats up, with both families determined to win the neighborhood barbecue contest, tensions boil over and secrets are revealed. Ultimately, both families learn important lessons about the dangers of pride and the value of humility and community.
