In the season 14 premiere, "Treehouse of Horror XIII," The Simpsons once again break out their Halloween-themed anthology stories with three tales that are both funny and macabre.
In the first segment, "Send in the Clones," Homer discovers a hammock that's capable of cloning himself, leading to an army of identical Homers. Chaos ensues as the clones are all unique in their own way and get up to different hijinks.
Next up is "The Fright To Creep And Scare Harms," which sees Lisa accidentally turning everyone in Springfield into their Halloween costumes. This leads to some pretty hilarious scenarios as we see the townspeople adapting to their new identities.
Finally, "The Island of Dr. Hibbert" sees various Springfield residents, including The Simpsons, being invited to a mysterious island for a safari. But things take a dark turn as the group discovers that Dr. Hibbert is experimenting on animals and humans, creating bizarre hybrids in his lab.
As always, the humor is clever and tongue-in-cheek, with plenty of references to classic horror films and pop culture. "Treehouse of Horror XIII" is a great start to an iconic season of The Simpsons and proves that the show can still deliver great laughs and scares more than a decade into its run.
