After an outbreak of burglaries in Springfield, the town decides to revamp the police force and appoints Homer as the new chief. However, he quickly realizes that being a cop is not as glamorous as he thought it would be and finds himself getting into trouble with the law. Meanwhile, Marge helps Apu prepare for the citizenship test and he starts to worry about fitting in with the rest of the American population. As Homer tries to crack down on crime, he realizes he might need the help of some old friends to bring peace back to Springfield.
