Ep 9. Mayored to the Mob

In The Simpsons season 10 episode 9, titled "Mayored to the Mob," Homer Simpson accidentally causes Mayor Quimby's bodyguard to quit, and he takes over the role to impress his friends and family. The Mayor initially refuses, but when they threaten his life, he begrudgingly agrees. Homer steps in as the Mayor's bodyguard and saves him from harm.

As a result of his bravery, Homer becomes a hero in the eyes of the public, and even Hollywood comes calling, offering him a chance to star in an action movie. However, when the same mobster from the wedding targets him for revenge, Homer must put his newfound skills to the test and protect himself and his family from danger.

Throughout the episode, there are several standout moments, including a hilarious scene where Homer acts as the Mayor's figurehead while the real Mayor sneaks off to play golf, as well as a reference to Star Trek's "The Trouble with Tribbles" when the mobster's illegal activities involve a shipment of dangerous animals.

"Mayored to the Mob" is a standout episode in season 10 of The Simpsons for its blend of humor, action, and pop culture references.
