In episode four of season 10 of The Simpsons, fans are in for a spooky treat with the show's annual Halloween special, Treehouse of Horror IX.
The episode features three Halloween-themed stories, with the first one being "Hell Toupée". In this story, Homer gets a hair transplant from the recently deceased criminal Snake Jailbird, not realizing that Snake's hair has the power to take control of his mind and body. Chaos ensues as Homer becomes a dangerous criminal, with only the quick thinking of Marge and Lisa potentially saving the day.
The second story is titled "The Terror of Tiny Toon". This segment sees Bart and Lisa attending a school for murderers while Homer and Marge enroll Maggie in a daycare that is run by giant killer babies. But when the daycare babies discover their own power, the Simpsons family must fight for their survival against the terrifying tots.
Finally, the third story is "Starship Poopers", which sees a parody of the classic sci-fi franchise Star Trek. After a routine DNA test reveals that Homer is not the biological father of Maggie, they discover that she is actually an alien from the planet Rigel 7. The family is soon visited by Kang and Kodos, alien characters who have frequently appeared in previous Treehouse of Horror episodes, who reveal that Maggie's real father is actually one of them.
With its wacky and spooky stories, Treehouse of Horror IX is the perfect Halloween-themed episode for The Simpsons fans who want to embrace the ghoulish spirit of the holiday.
