Ep 11. The Crepes of Wrath

Bart Simpson is in hot water again for pulling yet another prank at school. This time, he got his entire class to stay up all night to watch "The Krusty the Clown Show," resulting in everyone falling asleep the next day in class. As punishment, Principal Skinner decides to send Bart to France as part of an exchange program with the hopes that he will learn some responsibility.

As soon as Bart arrives in France, he is greeted by a family of winemakers who force him to work long hours in their vineyard. Back in Springfield, the Simpson family receives a French exchange student named Adil who seems too good to be true. Adil is well-behaved and polite, speaks perfect English, and has a strange fascination with the workings of nuclear power plants (which just happens to be the one place where Homer Simpson works).

Back in France, Bart is fed up with the grueling work he's been doing, but is afraid to speak up to his host family. One day, while wandering the streets of Paris, he meets some Australian teens who convince him to help them pull off a heist at the American embassy. Bart unwittingly helps them, and they take pictures of top-secret documents that they plan to sell to the highest bidder.

Meanwhile, Adil is becoming close with the Simpson family, and Homer is even considering adopting him. But when Adil starts asking too many questions about the nuclear power plant, Homer becomes suspicious and decides to investigate.

When Bart finds out what the Australian teens have done, he tries to get the pictures back, but gets caught by the French authorities. He is sentenced to a Turkish prison and begs the Simpson family to help him. Homer and Marge fly to France to help their son, and end up getting caught up in a high-speed chase through the streets of Paris.

In the end, Bart learns a lesson about responsibility and is sent back to Springfield. Adil is revealed to be a spy who was trying to gather information about the nuclear power plant, but he is eventually captured and sent back to his home country. As for Homer, he is fired from his job at the power plant for letting Adil get too close to sensitive information.
