Ep 2. Treehouse of Horror V

From accidentally killing a mosquito to becoming the ruler of a dystopian future, Homer's time-traveling exploits are a perfect example of The Simpsons' knack for blending high-concept sci-fi with relatable humor.

Finally, the episode closes with "Nightmare Cafeteria," a twisted take on the classic Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man." In this version, Springfield Elementary's staff are forced to resort to cannibalism when overcrowding in detention leads them to start cooking the misbehaving students. It's a dark and disturbing segment, but one that also manages to find plenty of laughs in its macabre premise, making it the perfect way to round out this Halloween-themed episode.
