Jim Rockford, a charismatic private investigator, immerses himself in yet another intense case involving a corrupt political system in season 2 episode 11 of The Rockford Files. The episode entitled "Pastoria Prime Pick" finds Rockford being hired by Dorothy Prentiss, a reform candidate who intends to campaign for the mayoral position in the Californian town of Pastoria.
As the investigation continues, Rockford discovers that Prentiss's opponent, Mayor Tyler, is responsible for a series of sinister actions, including planting evidence of drug use and bribery in Prentiss's campaign office.

Despite facing intense opposition, Rockford and Prentiss manage to gain widespread support and effectively prove Tyler's corruption to the voters.
As the case progresses, Rockford realizes that the corruption runs much deeper than just the campaign. Tyler is involved in more significant schemes, including a land-grabbing bid that would result in major profit for himself and his associates.
Rockford has to tread carefully as he tiptoes around the corrupt system and builds his case against Tyler and his corrupt cronies. In a nail-biting finish, Rockford and Prentiss face their toughest fight yet as they go head-to-head with Tyler and his associates on election day.
The episode culminates in a tense and thrilling conclusion, having Rockford expose and bring to justice Tyler and his associates, and ensuring Prentiss's campaign results in electoral success.
The Rockford Files season 2 episode 11 "Pastoria Prime Pick" is an excellent example of the show's sharp writing and well-executed storyline. With its fascinating tale of political corruption, drama, and unexpected plot twists, it is no wonder that The Rockford Files has stood the test of time as a favourite amongst audiences worldwide.
