The Rifleman is an American Western TV series that aired from 1958 to 1963. The show follows protagonist Lucas McCain, played by Chuck Connors, and his son Mark McCain, played by Johnny Crawford. The show is set in the late 1800s in the fictional town of North Fork, New Mexico.
In season 3 episode 16, titled Flowers by the Door, Lucas and Mark find themselves in the midst of a mystery when they discover that someone is leaving flowers on the doorstep of their home. They are initially touched by the gesture, but quickly become suspicious when the gifts continue to arrive despite their attempts to catch the anonymous sender.
As they investigate the source of the flowers, they encounter a host of colorful characters, each with their own potential motives for leaving the gifts. The list of suspects includes a wealthy widow, a man with a grudge against Lucas, and an eccentric artist who seems to be hiding something.
As the flowers keep coming and the mystery deepens, Lucas and Mark must use their wits and their six-shooters to get to the bottom of the strange goings-on in their town. Along the way, they encounter danger, humor, and plenty of clues that lead them closer and closer to the truth.
