The Replacements is an animated television series revolving around two orphaned siblings, Todd and Riley, who accidentally replace people's real-life situations with replacements when using a special app. In season 1 episode 4 titled "The Truth Hurts / Jumping Mad," the twins once again find themselves in a hilarious mix-up of swapping lives.
In the first half of the episode, "The Truth Hurts," Todd and Riley replace a popular fashion designer named Carson with a teenage girl named Madison, who is going through a bad case of acne. Madison convinces the twins to keep her reality TV show appearance intact by replacing her with a robot lookalike, so that she doesn't have to face her current reality.
Meanwhile, Carson is stuck in Madison's place, facing the harsh reality of being a teenager with acne, and subsequently losing her fashion sense. Todd, Riley and the rest of the family find out about the swap and try to make things right by placing Carson back in her rightful place and bringing back Madison's old appearance. However, things do not go according to plan as the robot causing chaos at Madison's TV show, leading to a hilarious ending.
The second half of the episode, "Jumping Mad," sees Todd and Riley replacing a professional video game player named Stone with their retired grandfather. Things start off well with grandpa showing impressive skills, winning all the games, and gaining a vast following. Todd and Riley think they've hit the jackpot, until Grandpa reveals to them he's not playing fair.
Grandpa confesses that he's been cheating and using a special game cheat code in the form of an old-fashioned joystick. The twins are forced to act fast when Stone finds out about this cheating and insists on a final showdown with Grandpa. The twins arrange the showdown, and Grandpa decides to give up his old ways. The showdown becomes an intense match of fast finger movements and skill, and when it ends, the twins and grandpa are declared the winners.
"The Truth Hurts / Jumping Mad" is an episode viewers can expect to be entertained by, as they follow the hilarious antics of Todd and Riley. The twins' antics are powered by their determination to make the most out of their opportunity as the replacement app users.
