"The Red Road" is a drama television series that premiered on the Sundance Channel in 2014. The show is set in a small town, Walpole, in the mountains of New Jersey, where two communities - the Native American tribe and the local police force - coexist, but with significant tension between them.

The main character, Harold Jensen (played by Martin Henderson), is a local police officer who is married to a Native American woman, Jean (played by Julianne Nicholson). Their marriage is complicated, and the show explores their relationship as well as their individual struggles with their identity and loyalty to their respective communities.

Jason Momoa's character, Phillip Kopus, is a member of the tribe and a former convict who returns to Walpole after serving time in prison. His arrival creates tension between the tribe and the local police, as he has a complicated history with both groups.

Tamara Tunie plays the role of Marie, the matriarch of the tribe, who is struggling to keep her community together while dealing with the consequences of her son's criminal activities. Kiowa Gordon plays her son, Junior, who is a troubled teenager trying to find his place in the world.

Allie Gonino and Annalise Basso play the roles of Rachel and Katia, two teenage girls whose lives become intertwined with the characters of the show. Tom Sizemore portrays Jack Kopus, Phillip's father, who is battling his own demons and trying to reconnect with his estranged son.

Throughout the two seasons of the show, "The Red Road" explores themes of family, identity, loyalty, and the consequences of past actions. The tension between the two communities creates a sense of unease throughout the show, and the complexities of the characters keep the audience engaged.

The cinematography is excellent, capturing the beauty of the New Jersey forest while conveying the sense of isolation and confinement felt by the characters. The performances of the cast are strong, particularly Martin Henderson and Jason Momoa, who both give compelling performances as characters with complex motivations.

"The Red Road" is a complex and thought-provoking show that explores important themes while managing to maintain a sense of suspense and intrigue. It is a great watch for fans of drama and crime shows who are looking for something a little different.

The Red Road is a series that ran for 2 seasons (12 episodes) between February 27, 2014 and on Sundance Channel
