The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 1 episode 5, titled "Ladies Who Lunch," follows the lives of six women as they navigate through their daily routines and social lives while simultaneously balancing their families and friendships.
In this episode, the women start their day by having a meeting to plan a charity event for a local women's shelter. The event will be a luncheon, which sparks excitement amongst the group as they enjoy the idea of dressing up and mingling with other high society individuals in the Salt Lake City area.
Throughout the episode, the ladies split up to run various errands, attend meetings, and spend some quality time with their families. We see Lisa Barlow working on her fashion brand and hosting a luncheon of her own to try and win over Heather Gay, who she has been having a difficult time connecting with. Heather, on the other hand, is working hard to push forward with her own business venture, Beauty Lab, and continues to balance work with spending time with her family.
Jen Shah uses the day to try and reconcile with Mary Cosby after their explosive argument at the birthday party in the previous episode. Mary, who had been offended by Jen's comments, seems hesitant at first but ultimately agrees to hear Jen out. The two women end up hashing out their issues and ultimately leave on good terms.
Whitney Rose, who has been dealing with marital issues, spends the day with her husband trying to work through their problems. She opens up to him about how she feels neglected and unappreciated, which is weighing heavily on her.
Meredith Marks deals with some drama of her own when her son Brooks takes issue with her and her husband's separation. Brooks has been relying heavily on his mother lately and seems upset that she is not as present in his life as she once was. Meredith attempts to reassure him that she is still there for him and loves him very much.
The episode culminates with the ladies attending the charity luncheon they had spent the morning planning. The event is a success, and we see the women having a good time socializing with one another and other prominent members of the Salt Lake City community.
Overall, "Ladies Who Lunch" provides viewers with a glimpse into the day-to-day lives of the six women and how they handle the various challenges that come their way. From business ventures to family issues, these women show that they are capable of handling anything that comes their way and continue to uphold their status as Salt Lake City's most glamorous and talked-about individuals.
