Set in the Northern Wei dynasty, The Princess Weiyoung follows the story of Li Weiyoung, the youngest daughter of the prime minister. The series opens with the birth of Weiyoung, which immediately draws the attention of the Empress Dowager, who believes her to be a bad omen.

Years later, Weiyoung has grown into a beautiful young woman and catches the eye of the Prince of Northern Liang, Tuoba Jun. While out on a picnic together, Weiyoung and Tuoba Jun are attacked by assassins sent by the Empress Dowager. Tuoba Jun is gravely injured in the attack, and Weiyoung sacrifices herself to save him by throwing herself off a cliff.

Weiyoung's body is never recovered, and her family is told that she has died. Meanwhile, Weiyoung has been rescued by a group of wandering merchants and is taken to a small village where she begins a new life under a new name, Meng Feng.

Meng Feng quickly adapts to her new life in the village and becomes close with the locals, especially the kindly old doctor who takes her under his wing. However, her life is turned upside down again when a group of soldiers from Northern Liang arrive in the village, searching for her.

It's soon revealed that Tuoba Jun survived the assassination attempt and has been searching for Weiyoung/Meng Feng ever since. He believes that her survival is a sign that they are meant to be together and he wants to marry her. Meng Feng, still mourning the life she lost, is hesitant to accept Tuoba Jun's proposal, but her feelings for him begin to grow as they spend more time together.

As the search for Meng Feng intensifies, her true identity is eventually revealed, and she is forced to return to the palace where she faces off against the powerful and scheming Empress Dowager. Through her intelligence, strength, and determination, Weiyoung fights for her rightful place as a princess and for the love of the man she has come to care for deeply.

The Princess Weiyoung is an epic tale of love, betrayal, and political intrigue set against the breathtaking backdrop of ancient China. With stunning costumes and beautiful scenery, this sweeping drama is sure to captivate audiences from beginning to end.
