The Price is Right season 48 episode 1 aired on 9/23/2019 with an exciting line-up of games and prizes. Host Drew Carey kicked off the episode with the iconic game of Plinko, where contestants drop chips down a pegboard to win cash prizes. Each chip can land in one of several numbered slots at the bottom of the board, with the highest slot worth $10,000.

Next up was the game of Cliff Hangers, where a contestant must guess the price of various household items without going over. A small mountain climber figure is placed on a track, and for every dollar the contestant is off on their guess, the climber moves up the mountain one step. If he reaches the top, the game is over and the contestant loses.

Another classic game, Punch-a-Bunch, involved punching holes in a large board to reveal cash prizes. The contestant must first guess the price of an item to earn punches, with the highest prize being $25,000.

One game unique to this episode was called Pick-a-Number, in which a series of numbers must be chosen in the correct order to reveal a prize. The numbers are hidden behind dollar signs, and the contestant must avoid choosing any dollar signs in order to win.

Later in the show, contestants had the chance to win a brand new car in the game called Switcheroo. The contestant is presented with five small prizes and must correctly match each prize to its corresponding price tag on a board. Once all the prices have been matched, the contestant has the opportunity to switch any of the prices they chose before the reveal of the actual retail values.

Finally, the episode ended with the Showcase Showdown, where the top two contestants from the earlier games spin a large wheel to try and land closest to a target number. The winner of this round advances to the final Showcase, where they have the chance to win a variety of high-value items.

Throughout the episode, Drew Carey's infectious energy and the excitement of the contestants made for an entertaining and engaging viewing experience. The Price is Right season 48 episode 1 was a great start to another season of this beloved game show.
