In season 13 episode 7 of The Pioneer Woman, titled Kit and Caboodle, viewers are in for a treat as Ree Drummond whips up some of her favorite comfort foods while sharing stories from her family farm.
The episode starts with Ree showing off her adorable cats, who have been nothing but troublemakers. She shares how she got them and even shows some pictures of them when they were young. She then moves on to the kitchen and starts preparing some of her signature dishes.
First up are the meatballs that she makes for her family. Ree shares that her husband, Ladd, loves them, and they're perfect for a crowd, too. She starts by mixing the ground beef, breadcrumbs, and spices together and then rolls them into balls. She fries them in a pan until they're brown and then adds them to a pot of homemade marinara sauce. The meatballs simmer in the sauce for a while, allowing all the flavors to meld together. Ree serves them on top of spaghetti, and they look absolutely delicious.
Next up are some seriously decadent loaded mashed potatoes. Ree starts by boiling some potatoes until they're tender, then mashing them with butter, cream cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. She stirs in some cheddar cheese, bacon, and scallions, giving the potatoes a tasty twist. She tops them off with even more cheese and bakes them in the oven until they're golden brown and bubbling.
Ree isn't done yet, though. She moves on to making some fried mozzarella sticks, which are perfect for snacking on while watching TV or having friends over. She slices mozzarella cheese sticks into small rounds, dips them in flour, egg, and seasoned breadcrumbs, and then fries them until they're crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside.
Throughout the episode, Ree shares fun stories and memories from her time on the farm. She talks about how much she loves her life on the ranch and how fortunate she feels to have a family that supports her. She also gives tips on how to make cooking for a crowd more manageable and shares some of her best kitchen hacks.
As the episode comes to a close, Ree sets the table for a family dinner. She loads it up with the meatballs, mashed potatoes, mozzarella sticks, and a delicious-looking salad. She invites her husband and children to the table, and they all dig in, enjoying the comfort food and each other's company.
In the end, Kit and Caboodle is a heartwarming episode of The Pioneer Woman that showcases Ree Drummond's love for cooking and her family. Fans of the show won't want to miss it.
