Ep 16. High Moltage
- June 3, 2012
In "High Moltage," the six main penguin characters from the Madagascar movie franchise, Skipper, Kowalski, Rico, and Private, team up against Dr. Blowhole's alliance with the Marlene doppelgänger. Dr. Blowhole is the Penguins' main enemy, a highly-intelligent and evil dolphin who wants to conquer the world starting with the Antarctic. Marlene is a happy-go-lucky otter who lives in the Central Park Zoo, where the Penguins also live, and is their friend.
The Penguins find out that Dr. Blowhole has gone to the Electric Eel Exhibit at the Central Park Zoo, and that is where the action begins. The Electric Eel Exhibit is where the penguins store all of their spare batteries to power their gadgets. The Penguins do not want Dr. Blowhole to get his hands on these batteries as it could mean disaster. Along the way, they meet up with Rico, a mute penguin who communicates through actions and has a talent for blowing things up. Rico shows the Penguins a new invention he created: a robot penguin named Eggy. The Penguins are impressed with Eggy's strength and his ability to take on Dr. Blowhole's army of robots.
Dr. Blowhole has also cloned Marlene and is using her for his own purposes. Marlene's clone is not only a good fighter, but also has all of Marlene's memories and tendencies, making it difficult for the Penguins to distinguish between the two. The Penguins are determined to save the real Marlene and take down Dr. Blowhole for good.
The Penguins are no match for Dr. Blowhole's army of robots alone, so they enroll the help of Private - the youngest and most innocent of the Penguins - to sneak into the aquarium and retrieve the master remote control that Dr. Blowhole uses to control his robot army. Private's innocence saves the day as he is able to retrieve the remote without getting caught by Dr. Blowhole's highly-sensitive security system.
The Penguins use Eggy to fight against Dr. Blowhole's robots, but they soon realize that the robot army is constantly increasing in number. The Penguins realize that to win the battle, they must create their own robot army. They use the spare parts lying around the Electric Eel Exhibit to build an army of robot penguins.
In the final showdown, the Penguins and their robot army fight against Dr. Blowhole and his army of robots. The battle is intense, but in the end, the Penguins are victorious. They save the real Marlene, destroy all of Dr. Blowhole's robots, and Dr. Blowhole is taken into custody.
In the end, the Penguins return to their home in the Central Park Zoo, and Marlene comes to thank them for saving her. The Penguins' catchphrase "Just smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave" is utilized, and the episode comes to a close.
"High Moltage" is a fun, action-filled episode with plenty of suspense and humor. Fans of the Madagascar franchise will enjoy seeing their favorite penguin characters in their own TV show, battling against their arch-nemesis, and coming out on top.
