The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show is an animated television series produced by Warner Bros. The show follows the adventures of Pebbles Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble, who are now teenagers attending Bedrock High School. The show premiered on CBS on September 11, 1971 and ran for two seasons until its final episode on September 2, 1976.
The show features the voice talents of Sally Struthers as Pebbles Flintstone, Jean Vander Pyl as Wilma Flintstone, Lennie Weinrib as Bamm-Bamm Rubble, Mel Blanc as Barney Rubble, Mitzi McCall as Betty Rubble, Alan Reed as Fred Flintstone, Jay North as Tadpole, Don Messick as Schleprock and Hoppy, John Stephenson as Mr. Slate, and Gay Autterson as Penny Pillar.
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show follows the teenage daughter of Fred and Wilma Flintstone, Pebbles, and her boyfriend, Bamm-Bamm, as they attend Bedrock High School. Along with their friends Tadpole and Penny, they get into all sorts of high school hijinks, including entering a talent show, writing for the school newspaper, taking part in a school election, and more.
One of the main themes of the show is the relationship between Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm. The two have been in love since they were babies, but their relationship is not without its challenges. Bamm-Bamm is often clumsy and gets into trouble, much to Pebbles' chagrin. However, they always manage to work things out in the end and remain devoted to each other.
Another key aspect of the show is the role of the parents in the teenagers' lives. Fred and Wilma Flintstone, as well as Barney and Betty Rubble, are always there for their children, offering advice and guidance when needed. They also get into their own adventures, including starting a business and trying to lose weight.
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show also features several recurring characters, including Schleprock, a jinx who brings bad luck wherever he goes; Hoppy, Bamm-Bamm's pet dinosaur; and Mr. Slate, the gruff owner of Slate Rock and Gravel Company where Fred and Barney work.
The animation style of the show is typical of the early 1970s, with bright colors and simple designs. The show's theme song, "Open Up Your Heart (And Let the Sunshine In)", is a catchy tune that perfectly captures the free-spirited nature of the show.
Overall, The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show is a fun, lighthearted show that will appeal to fans of the original Flintstones series. The show explores important themes of love, friendship, and family while also providing plenty of laughs and adventures along the way.
