However, Richard is not at all prepared to become the king, and along with his sister Princess Eleanor, played by Sophie Winkleman, they must navigate through the complex and challenging world of royalty.

Meanwhile, Lorcan Cranitch plays the King's private secretary, Sir Iain Ratalick, who is fiercely loyal to Richard and strives to protect him and the royal family from any potential harm.

Zoe Telford plays Miranda Hill, a journalist who becomes involved with the royal family in more ways than one. David Harewood plays Major Tom Hammond, the King's head of security, who struggles to balance his duty to protect the monarchy with his own personal life.

Finally, Sebastian Armesto plays Simon, Eleanor's ex-boyfriend and a member of the aristocratic upper-class who is not impressed with Richard's ascension to the throne.

Throughout the series, viewers witness the struggles and triumphs of the royal family as they attempt to modernize their image and navigate their way through the complex world of politics and tradition.
