The Oval season 1 episode 11, titled "The United Front," follows the aftermath of the shooting that occurred during President Hunter Franklin's speech in the previous episode. The staff at the White House works tirelessly to keep the President and his family safe while trying to identify the shooter and prevent any further attacks.
As tensions rise, relationships are put to the test. First Lady Victoria Franklin struggles with whether to trust her husband and his team as she becomes increasingly frustrated with their lack of communication and transparency. Secret Service Agent Kyle becomes increasingly suspicious of his fellow agents, raising concerns about a potential inside job.
Meanwhile, Bobby tries to assist Lilly as she deals with the aftermath of the shooting and the death of her husband. Lilly finds herself without a support system, and Bobby steps into that void, offering his help and protection.
As the investigation into the shooting continues, the President and his team must also deal with the fallout of the incident on a global scale. The Chinese Foreign Minister demands answers, adding pressure to an already stressful situation.
In order to quell suspicions and avoid any further international incidents, President Franklin is forced to make a difficult decision. He must decide whether to publicly release classified information that could potentially damage his administration or remain tight-lipped and risk further suspicion from foreign powers.
