Ep 6. Krill

In episode 6 of season 1 of The Orville, titled "Krill," the crew of the Orville must go undercover on a Krill spaceship in order to steal a copy of their holy book. The Krill are a hostile alien race who have been at war with the Union for years. The Union hopes that by studying the Krill holy book, they can better understand their enemy and find a way to make peace.

To accomplish this mission, Captain Ed Mercer and Lieutenant Gordon Malloy disguise themselves as Krill soldiers and board the Krill ship. Once inside, they must navigate through various obstacles and challenges while trying to avoid detection.

Meanwhile, back on the Orville, First Officer Kelly Grayson must deal with the aftermath of a failed first contact mission on a primitive planet. The planet's inhabitants have mistaken a piece of technology for a god, and the mission has inadvertently caused them to start worshiping it. Grayson must find a way to fix the situation before the Union is blamed for any further harm.

As the mission onboard the Krill ship progresses, Mercer and Malloy begin to question their own beliefs and prejudices about the Krill. They are forced to confront the fact that they have been raised on propaganda and stereotypes about the Krill and that they may not be as different from the Union as they thought.

The episode also explores the relationship between Mercer and his ex-wife Grayson, who serves as his first officer. There is still a lot of tension and lingering feelings between them, and their dynamic adds an interesting layer to the plot.

"Krill" is one of the standout episodes of The Orville's first season. It's a combination of action and introspection, with well-crafted humor and character development woven throughout. The Krill continue to be an intriguing and formidable antagonist for the crew of the Orville, and the episode leaves the viewer wanting more.
