The Opposition with Jordan Klepper was a political satire show that aired on Comedy Central during the fall of 2017 through early 2018. The show featured former Daily Show correspondent Jordan Klepper as the host; Tim Baltz and Laura Grey served as correspondents. The main objective of The Opposition was to spoof conservative news shows such as Fox News, with Klepper playing a character that represented the voice of the alternative right.

The show was unique in the sense that it was almost like a mirror image of Stephen Colbert's The Colbert Report, with Klepper occupying a character similar to that of Colbert's. However, instead of poking fun at the left, Klepper's character represented the views of the extreme right. He portrayed a character who claimed to support President Trump and who believed that the mainstream media was constantly attacking the president.

The Opposition's format was similar to that of a news talk show, with Klepper opening the show with a monologue, similar to many late-night talk shows. After his opening monologue, he would often have a segment dedicated to mock interviews with various news personalities, politicians, and other guests representing the voice of the mainstream media.

What made the show unique was that it was interactive with its audience. The show harnessed the power of social media, inviting viewers to interact with the show in real-time. There were also various interactive games and quizzes on the show's website, where viewers could test their knowledge of current events and politics.

The show's correspondents also played an important role in the show, just like The Daily Show's correspondents did. However, the difference was that instead of playing the role of the traditional "roving reporter" style of correspondent, Baltz and Grey played characters that represented the views of the mainstream media, which Klepper's character saw as hostile towards his agenda.

Despite being a fictional character, Klepper's character conveyed a sense of realism that was impressive. While the show was indeed satire, many of the issues discussed were news topics of the day, allowing the show to offer commentary on current events of the time. The show often made an effort to highlight the influence of the Sinclair Broadcast Group on traditional news media, which was a major topic of discussion during the time the show was on the air.

Towards the end of its run, The Opposition underwent a slight format change. The show started to focus more on live political events such as rallies and demonstrations, which gave the show a change in pace and offered a different perspective on the political issues of the day.

Overall, The Opposition with Jordan Klepper was a hilarious and creative show that offered a unique take on political commentary. The show was successful in its mission to poke fun at conservative news shows, with Klepper's character creating a persona that was convincing in its portrayal of the far-right's voice. The show's innovative format and interactive elements were a significant reason for its success, as it showcased the ability of comedy to deliver news and commentary in new and exciting ways.

The Opposition with Jordan Klepper is a series that ran for 1 seasons (128 episodes) between September 25, 2017 and on Comedy Central
