Michelle and Sloane are paired up for a duet competition and their tension is palpable. In order to lighten the mood and hopefully improve their performance, Kate suggests a friendly competition between The Next Step boys and girls. The girls struggle to find a way to work together, while the boys seem to be in perfect sync. Meanwhile, Amy helps Cassie deal with some performance anxiety, and Skylar searches for a way to make things right with Noah after their last interaction. The pressure is on for everyone as they compete to see who can do their chosen task better - anything the boys can do, the girls can do better. But when things don't go as planned, some unexpected alliances are formed and some egos are bruised. Will the girls be able to come together in time for their duet? And what will the aftermath of the competition look like for The Next Step?
