Ep 13. Truth or Dare

In season 5 episode 13 of The New Adventures of Old Christine titled "Truth or Dare", Christine attends a parent-teacher conference at Ritchie's school where she discovers some very unsettling news. She learns that her ex-husband, Richard, has been dating another mother from the school named Francie. Christine is devastated by this revelation, particularly because it means that she is no longer Richard's only love interest. She is so upset that she decides to confront Richard and Francie at a school function later that evening.

At the school function, Christine finds Richard and Francie and decides to play a game of "Truth or Dare" with them and some other parents. Christine chooses "Truth" and Richard asks her if she is over him. Christine says that she is, but the moment is ruined when she realizes that Richard and Francie are holding hands under the table. Christine storms away, humiliated and heartbroken.

Later, Christine and Richard have a heated discussion about Francie. Christine accuses Richard of cheating on her with Francie while they were still married. Richard denies it and says that he didn't start seeing Francie until after they were divorced. This is a major turning point for Christine because she realizes that she has been holding onto her anger and resentment towards Richard for far too long and it's time to let it go.

Christine decides to go on a date with a man named Max, who she met earlier in the episode. Max is a therapist and Christine is initially skeptical of him, but she ends up having a great time on their date and even opens up to him about her issues with Richard. Meanwhile, Richard and Francie are having their own problems. They are struggling to keep their relationship a secret from the other parents at the school and they end up having a public fight that causes a scene.

In the end, Christine realizes that she doesn't need Richard to be happy and that she is capable of moving on with her life. She tells Richard that she forgives him and wishes him the best with Francie. The episode ends with Christine driving off into the sunset with Max, feeling hopeful and happy about what the future holds.
